You've already done a great thing: you've begun your higher education, and now you are ready to make the transfer to UNM. The University of New Mexico offers several different scholarship programs for transfer students. No matter where you transfer from, we have scholarship opportunities for you.

NM Scholarship Transfer Transcript
The Financial Aid Office must receive Fall NMSTT's by end of the 3rd week of the Fall Semester; Spring NMSTT's by end of the 3rd week of the Spring Semester

Full tuition per year
Renewable for 8 consecutive semesters in attendance at all New Mexico accredited schools
|
If a student is a current recipient of the NM Legislative Lottery Success Scholarship, either here at UNM or another accredited NM Institution, you may transfer your NM Legislative Lottery Success Scholarship with you to another eligible NM institution.
|
1. Must earn 12 new credit hours each semester (repeat classes do not count toward credit hours earned).
2. Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
3. If a student drops below the full-time (12 credit hours) status at any time throughout the semester, the scholarship will be canceled for that specific semester and the student will be responsible for all incurred charges.

Approximately $1000 per year
$500 per semester
Renewable for 4 consecutive semesters

1. New Mexico Scholarship Transfer Transcript is required
2. Demonstrate eligibility for financial aid
3. Must be enrolled for at least half-time
4. Must be a New Mexico resident and a U.S. citizen (permanent or a resident alien)
5. A combined cumulative transfer college grade point average of 3.25 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).
6. At least 30 hours of credited transfer hours
7. A completed Free Application for Federal Student Financial Aid (FAFSA).
Preference given to returning or transfer students

Complete 15 new credit hours with a 3.0 GPA each semester (fall and spring semesters).

Zia Transfer Scholarship
Admitted to UNM by February 1 for Fall semester, October 1 for Spring semester

Approximately $2000 per year
$1000 per semester
Renewable for 4 consecutive semesters.

2. At least 30 hours of credited transfer hours.
3. A completed Free Application for Federal Student Financial Aid (FAFSA)
4. Must be a New Mexico resident and a U.S. citizen (permanent or a resident alien)
Preference given to undergraduate minority students: Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic, African American and American Indian

Admitted to UNM by February 1 for Fall semester, October 1 for Spring semester

Approximate value of $14,815 per year
Plus a $200 stipend
Renewable for 4 consecutive semesters

1. A combined transfer college grade point average of 3.5 or higher

1. A combined cumulative transfer college grade point average of 3.25 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) and
2. At least 30 hours of credited transfer hours.
3. Meet the High School criteria for the Amigo Scholarship.

Complete 15 new credit hours with a 3.0 GPA each semester (fall and spring semesters).

|
Colorado Reciprocal
For best consideration: Admitted to UNM by
February 1 for Fall Semester, October 1 for Spring Semester

Recipient pays New Mexico resident tuition rates (valued at approximately $14,815/year).
Renewable for 2 years
|
A limited number of tuition waivers are available. Recipients will be awarded through a selective process.
|
Colorado Reciprocal Recipients:
Complete 15 new credit hours with a 3.0 GPA each semester (fall and spring semesters).
This tuition waiver is renewable for two years ( 4 consecutive semesters for transfer) provided you maintain the requirements.

|
Western Undergraduate Exchange Program (WUE)
Eligible candidates are residents of AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, MT, ND, NV, SD, OR, UT, WA, WY; must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Recipient pays 1.5 times New Mexico resident tuition rates (tuition waiver valued at approximately $11,765/year)
Renewable for 2 years

WUE Recipients:

This tuition waiver is renewable for two years (4 consecutive semesters for transfer) provided you maintain the requirements.
